Crowns and Bridges..
Return chewing function and help support your lips and cheeks! |
A crown is a restoration which replaces a damaged tooth, caused by an extensive and deep
cavity or filling, when there is a fracture of the dental tissue or in some cases after a root canal
therapy.
Also a dental crown is indicated to correct the appearance, shape color and alignment of the
tooth, the preparation involves the tooth surface around recovering the aesthetics and function.
In the case of bridges, they involve the preparation of teeth on either side of the missing tooth
area and three crowns are needed in order to make abridge that replaces one missing tooth!
The disadvantage of this procedure is the wearing away of the natural tissue of the adjacent
teeth in order to support the bridges.
Both, crowns and bridges used to replace one or more teeth and help to maintain the natural
appearance of your face and smile!
Missing teeth can also affect the way you chew and speak!
